China's One Child Policy- Was it right or wrong?

China is one of the largest countries in Asia, being second to Russia, the biggest country of the world. China is located on the East of Asia, with the population increasing every day. Now, the One Child Policy comes into view. Time for an explanation. The One Child Policy is to reduce the number of people in China, for example, only being able to have one child (unless you already have children, then you can have one more). In the late 1970s the policy came to life, because their leader noticed the increase of people. He decided he'd create a policy to save everyone, make sure there's enough food, no pollution and to make sure there's still room for everyone to live happily. But...did he do the right thing? Or not? It did decrease the population of China and saved food. However, there's one thing that mostly struck me. They abandon, or even kill little girls.WHY?! If they had a child, and it was a boy that would be happy because boys are 'stronger than girls'. They were even given a nickname for how they were treat differently to girls. They were nicknamed 'Little Princes'. Even sometimes if you didn't have enough money for the child they would put something...(can't remember what it was). But, let's calm down for a second. In 2015, the One Child Policy seemed to go away and was replaced with the Two Child Policy. It was interesting learning about this.
